Classification Title: Admissions Officer III

Job Description: The University of Florida is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Admissions Officer III to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Transfer Admissions processing team. In this role, you will evaluate undergraduate admissions applications and transfer credits, ensure compliance with admissions standards, provide exceptional customer service, and supervise and develop Admissions staff.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Transfer Admissions Processing
  • Review and evaluate undergraduate admissions applications to ensure they meet the university's minimum requirements and standards.
  • Assess transfer credits and verify the accuracy and completeness of student submissions for eligibility.
  • Collaborate with colleges to manage key processes, including application deadlines, available terms for student entry, and referral standards.
  • Ensure decisions are made and communicated by the designated release deadlines.
  • Evaluate secondary and post-secondary transcripts to ensure compliance with admissions standards.
  • Handle escalated situations and serves as the area expert, providing guidance and solutions for complex cases while maintaining high-quality service standards.
  • Optimize the efficiency of the application process.
Customer Service and Support
  • Serve as a point of contact for prospective and current students, parents, and university personnel, including responding to inquiries and communicating with the general public via phone, email, and in-person, disseminating accurate information to students, parents, and key stakeholders across campus.
  • Provide support to OneStop staff members with escalated admissions-related inquiries.
  • Participate in cross-functional events, advise on committees, and engage in Q&A sessions.
  • Assist with the creation of reference materials in support of OneStop staff member training.
Staff Supervision and Development
  • Hire, supervise, train, and evaluate full-time staff and student assistants assigned to the area.
  • Create training materials and coordinate training for Admissions business processes across all software platforms utilized in the office.
  • Coordinate staff work schedules to ensure sufficient office coverage.
Other Duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting with special projects and supporting other areas of Admissions, as needed.

Expected Salary: $52,000 annually
