Job summary

La Amistad Behavioral Health Services is seeking an Admissions Counselor for per diem duties in Maitland/Winter Park, FL. The role supports patient intake, assess eligibility, verify insurance, and coordinate admissions with physicians and families.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in a human service field or RN licensure, with at least two years in mental health, and current Florida licensure preferred. Excellent communication and crisis-appropriate judgment are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a human service field or RN licensure with two years of mental health experience.
• Current Florida license for LCSW/LMFT/LMHC or RN is preferred.
• Strong communication, initiative, and organizational abilities; ability to work with emotionally disturbed individuals.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient intake calls and provide information to potential admissions.
• Verify insurance coverage and determine eligibility for admission.
• Greet and orient new admissions and families; coordinate tours and assessments.
• Communicate effectively about the intake process and treatment options.
