  • Assist with planning and staffing virtual, local and off-campus recruitment (high schools, college fairs, workshops, etc.).
  • Assist with arrangements for open house and fly-in programs in the fall and recruitment events for admitted students in the spring.
  • Read and evaluate applications for first-year and transfer applicants.
  • Assist with preliminary transfer credit evaluations.
  • Other administrative duties and projects as assigned.

Admissions Graduate Assistant

The Admissions Graduate Assistant position provides a current graduate student with hands‑on professional experience in higher education administration, with specific exposure to many areas of the admissions process at Barnard College. The role contributes to customer service operations, event planning, recruitment, and application review, helping the Office recruit and select outstanding candidates for admission.

Responsibilities
  • Engage with prospective students and hold information sessions with families about Barnard and the admissions process.
  • Respond to and monitor telephone and email–based inquiries regarding the admissions process and academic programs available at Barnard.
  • Assist with planning and staffing virtual, local and off‑campus recruitment (high schools, college fairs, workshops, etc.).
  • Assist with arrangements for open house and fly‑in programs in the fall and recruitment events for admitted students in the spring.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a Graduate Program, preferably within a higher education field.

This is an on‑site, part‑time position.

Salary Range: $22/hour. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
