Job summary

SNF Hires is seeking an experienced Admissions Director for a full-time role in a Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation center in Union City, TN. The director will lead the admissions process, coordinate referrals, verify insurance, and ensure a seamless admission experience for residents and families.

The role requires knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid, managed care, and prior authorization processes, plus excellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilities to support occupancy goals.

Qualifications

• Experience as Admissions Director, Admissions Coordinator, Intake Coordinator, or Healthcare Admissions Specialist.
• Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, post-acute care, or healthcare admissions.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, Commercial Insurance, and Prior Authorization Processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the admissions process from referral to admission.
• Respond quickly to referrals from hospitals, case managers, discharge planners, physicians, families, and community partners.
• Verify insurance coverage, benefits eligibility, and obtain necessary authorizations for admission.
• Review referrals and collaborate closely with nursing leadership regarding admission appropriateness.
• Meet with residents and responsible parties to obtain required clinical, personal, and financial information.
• Explain facility services, programs, and admission requirements to residents and families.
• Conduct facility tours for prospective residents and families.
• Coordinate room assignments based on clinical needs, resident preferences, and bed availability.
• Maintain accurate admission records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Build positive relationships with referral sources to support occupancy and census goals.
• Provide outstanding customer service throughout the admissions and transition process.
