Acadia Healthcare's Cross Creek Hospital, in collaboration with Ascension Seton, seeks an Admissions Counselor in Austin, TX with Thursday–Saturday shifts. You will guide patients and families through admissions, assess needs, verify benefits, and coordinate transitions between care levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a social services field required (state allowances).
• Master's degree in social services or RN preferred.
• One or more years' experience in mental/behavioral health preferred.
• Current licensure, if applicable, as designated by the state.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries about the facility within policy timeframes.
• Develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Perform benefit eligibility to ensure active benefits at admission.
• Coordinate admission and transfer between referral sources and levels of care.
• Complete pre-admission assessments and communicate disposition recommendations.
• Maintain medical record documentation to support authorization.
• Admit patients and complete all forms with the patient.
• Provide compassionate, professional customer service prioritizing patient safety.
• Coordinate care for patients not being admitted and arrange follow-up care.
