Job summary

Valley Hope Parker is expanding our Admissions team and is seeking an Admissions Counselor. The successful candidate will be a Masters level clinician licensed as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or LAC, and will work Monday through Friday 9:00AM - 6:00PM at our Parker, Colorado location just outside Denver.

You will conduct admissions assessments, determine levels of care, complete pre-certifications, create and maintain electronic records, and support prospective patients through the admissions process

Qualifications

• License or credential to function as a drug and alcohol treatment counselor in the state of employment.
• One (1) year of clinical counseling experience or clinical case management.
• CPR certification; or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a key member of the admissions team; supports prospective patients and secures VHA as their service provider.
• Uses judgment, critical thinking, and industry knowledge to place prospective patients in appropriate Valley Hope programs.
• Conducts clinical assessments for incoming patients using biopsychosocial and ASAM criteria.
• Assesses and validates appropriate level of care (residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, outpatient).
• Assigns diagnostic codes based on intake assessments and completes pre-certification insurance processes.
• Creates and updates electronic records in data tracking/EMR systems with accurate, timely data.
• Provides back-up support to Admissions Coordinator and maintains confidentiality per HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
• Performs administrative duties and supports nursing and admissions processes as needed.
