Job summary

Valley Hope of Parker is seeking an Admissions Counselor to join the admissions team near Denver. The role requires licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or LAC) and clinical experience to assess and place patients in appropriate levels of care.

Starting salary ranges from $78,000 - $90,000 with strong benefits and a mission-driven culture. CPR certification and state licensure updates are required within designated timelines.

Qualifications

• License or credential to function as a drug and alcohol treatment counselor in the state of employment.
• One (1) plus year of clinical counseling experience or clinical case management.
• CPR certification; or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Master’s degree in behavioral sciences or social work.
• Three (3) plus years of clinical counseling experience; preference for substance abuse treatment.

Responsibilities

• Support prospective patients and secure VHA as their service provider.
• Conduct clinical assessments during admissions using biopsychosocial evaluation and ASAM criteria.
• Assess level of care (residential, partial hospitalization, IOP, outpatient).
• Assign diagnostic codes based on admission assessments.
• Complete pre-certification insurance processes for admissions.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.

Education

License or credential to function as a drug and alcohol treatment counselor

Master’s degree in behavioral sciences or social work

Independent counseling license (e.g., LPC, LISAC, LCSW, LMFT)
