Job summary

Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology - Okmulgee is seeking an Admissions Counselor to guide new and returning students through the admission and enrollment process. You will review information to determine eligibility and provide guidance on program selection and course enrollment.

Qualifications

About This Position
GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Admissions Counselor navigates new and returning students through OSUIT's admission and enrollment processes. The Counselor reviews all information provided to determine eligibility for admission and then decisions outcome accordingly. Provides additional assistance to students choosing program/major and subsequent course enrollment.

Education
  • Associate Degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Other combinations of education and relative experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience
  • Previous work experience in a college admissions office or related field.
  • Previous experience managing and maintaining records through the utilization of databases and/or electronic communication tools.
Certifications, Registrations, And/or Licenses
  • A valid driver’s license is required if performing the functions of the position requires the use of a personal or university vehicle.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of office technologies including but not limited to: office computers, fax machines, scanners, internet, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM systems.
  • High degree of initiative to work independently and also collaborate in a team environment.
  • Accurate typing/data entry skills and demonstrated ability to work with attention to detail.
  • Ability to use analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret written policies and procedures and make appropriate and logical recommendations, documenting reasoning.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Experience and confidence speaking in front of students.
  • Passion for assisting students with educational endeavors and representing the OSUIT and OSU brand with positivity and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated history of ethical and professional behavior.
