Job summary

Dallas Baptist University seeks an Admissions Counselor who will thoroughly understand the admissions funnel and be motivated to achieve personal and university goals for recruitment and enrollment. You will have regular contact with prospective students, parents, alumni, youth ministers and pastors, high school counselors, administrative officials, and other referral agents.

In addition, you are expected to produce weekly reports of recruiting activity in the form of applied/accepted lists,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher completed or near completion.
• Strong communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Proficient with computers and telephone etiquette.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating recruiting events for potential first year and transfer students.
• Coordinate recruitment travel to high schools and churches.
• Actively recruit first year and transfer students to DBU.
• Advise and enroll first year and transfer students in their first semester courses at DBU.
• Offer support for admissions file follow-up, Colleague/Slate entry, and scholarship recommendations.
• Support Registration for freshmen students.

Job description

The Admissions Counselor should thoroughly understand the admissions funnel and be motivated to achieve personal and university goals for recruitment and enrollment. He/she will have regular contact with prospective students, parents, alumni, youth ministers and pastors, high school counselors, administrative officials, and other referral agents. In addition, he/she is expected to produce weekly reports of recruiting activity in the form of applied/accepted lists, calling statistics, and college program summaries.

QUALIFICATIONS

The Admissions Counselor should possess or be near completion of a bachelor's degree or other advanced degree. He/she should possess good communication skills and be comfortable interacting with a variety of people in formal and informal settings. He/she should possess adequate computer knowledge and appropriate telephone etiquette. The Admissions Counselor must be willing and able to travel and will be expected to use his/her personal vehicle for local area recruiting. He/she must have a valid driver's license.
