Admissions Coordinator
Job Summary
The University of Utah College of Social Work is seeking atalented, energetic professional to provide admissions leadershipand support in a fast-paced, customer-focused, and professionalenvironment. The position requires extensive in-person, phone, andemail interaction with prospective students, student applicants,faculty, and other University and College staff. Candidates musthave strong communication and customer service skills; organizationand project management skills; and effective collegial and teamplayer skills—capable of handling multiple tasks, projects, andrelationships at one time.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the program directors, this positionwill:
- Advise and counsel prospective students and student applicantson the admissions process.
- Develop knowledge of OnBase admissions enrollment managementsystem; serve as technical support for these systems and liaisonwith university and other student services offices as necessary;work with faculty and staff to streamline admission processes;serve as technical lead for OnBase
- Maintain interpersonal communication and engagement withprospective students and student applicants via in-person, phone,and/or email as it relates to admissions.
- Calculate student applicants' cumulative GPA and verify studentapplicants' completion of pre-requisite requirements.
- Lead, organize, and facilitate admission information sessionsfor prospective students and student applicants.
- Collaborate with advising on recruitment efforts includingattendance at job fairs and communication with prospective studentsat these events.
- Lead and organize new student orientations for newly admittedstudents into the academic programs.
- Collaborate with personnel on the maintenance, monitoring,troubleshooting, and updating of the admissions enrollmentmanagement system.
- Review and verify student applicants' submission of applicationmaterial into the admissions enrollment management system.
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling admissionmeetings, attending admission meetings, developing and distributingmeeting agendas, constructing and distributing meeting minutes, andconstructing and distributing handouts, etc.
- Provide administrative support to members of the admissionscommittee in accessing and utilizing the admissions enrollmentmanagement system.
- Provide administrative support in the form of data collection,analysis, and reporting on admissions-accepted, declined,demographics, etc.
- Provide administrative support to members of the admissionscommittee in accessing and utilizing the admissions enrollmentmanagement system.
- Lead and facilitate the development of other admissionspersonnel on admissions procedures and tools.
- Act as liaison between program directors, admission committees,and individual members of the admission committees on reviewing andupdating admission procedural matters and documents.
- Refer prospective students and student applicants onto academicadvisors when inquiries are related to the academic programs.
- Inform the academic advising unit of newly admitted studentsinto the academic programs.
- Develop, monitor, and update the admissions website page forthe academic programs.
- Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher educationcan be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience(Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related workexperience).
Department may hire employee at one of the following joblevels:
- Administrative Assistants, II: Requires at least 1year of related experience.
- Administrative Assistants, III: Requires 3+ yearsof related experience.
- Administrative Assistants, IV: Requires 5+ yearsof related experience.
Preferences
Preference will be given to those who have admissions/recruitmentexperience. Preference will also be given to applicants: whopossess excellent customer service skills, database experience,demonstrate proficient oral and written communication skills, andhave adept interpersonal skills; have the ability to communicatecomplex information to multiple audiences, as well as speak infront of large groups; and demonstrate problem-solving andtime-management skills.
