Job summary

The Orchards Health Center is seeking a Full Time Admissions Coordinator for Sundays through Thursdays, 8:30am–5:00pm, with assisted living experience preferred. Salary is $25–$27 per hour, with comprehensive benefits including PTO, holidays, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401k with employer match.

You will coordinate admissions for assisted living and skilled nursing, gather preadmission docs, obtain insurance authorizations, and input data into the system.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology essential.
• Experience dealing with clients in a service-based setting.
• Prior experience in a medical setting preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare and HMO regulations preferred.
• High school diploma; some college or technical schooling preferred.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate admissions for assisted living and skilled nursing.
• Gather preadmission documentation and input admissions into the computer system.
• Obtain insurance authorizations and Medicare eligibility; notify departments of pending admissions.
• Complete admission contracts and manage documentation for residents and representatives.
• Market the facility to prospective residents, give tours, and assist with wait lists.
• Support talent development and participate in ongoing training.

For assisted living, coordinates admission process and processes all required documentation in a timely manner prior to requesting a nursing assessment. Gathers preadmission documentation as needed and provides packet to potential resident. Inputs admission into computer system once client moves in.

Coordinates admissions to skilled nursing. Obtains insurance authorizations, including Medicare eligibility. Notifies all appropriate departments of the pending admission, prepares the admission packet, entering complete information into the computer system, and requests needed documents from resident or resident representative.

Completes the admission contract and notifies each department with their required information. Collects and logs valuables as requested. Ensures Advance Directives have been requested, that resident is informed as to their rights about medical decisions and privacy, and that each resident is given documentation outlining Advance Directives' information and how to prepare one if one has not been executed.

Markets the skilled nursing facility to prospective residents and/or their representatives, giving tours, and obtaining information with which to make an informed decision about the appropriateness of the resident. Encourages clients to take a tour, invites them lunch, encourages wait listing. Assists the Dir. of Admissions as needed with marketing events.

• Prior experience in medical setting such as physician’s office, hospital or nursing home preferred.
