Job summary

Southern Oregon University is seeking an Admissions Communications Assistant to develop and manage a comprehensive communications plan for prospective and new students. You will oversee daily website maintenance, social media, tele-counseling supervision, and publication content creation.

You will engage with prospective students, parents, counselors, and the community to ensure timely responses and clear information about admissions, residency, housing, and programs.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience as an editor reviewing and correcting written materials for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax errors.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, or related field may substitute for two years of the required experience.
• Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration or other relevant field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• PUBLICATIONS: Manage content creation and design of prospective and new student communications across print, email, and web publications.
• TECHNOLOGY & VENDOR SOLUTIONS: Collaborate to utilize CRM, SMS, AI Chatbot, and other platforms; support discovery and acquisition of new solutions.
• WEBSITE: Manage Admissions website content including dates, majors, campus visits, and campaigns.
• SOCIAL MEDIA: Oversee Admissions social channels and related campaigns.
• MAILINGS: Coordinate recruitment mailings.
• RECRUITMENT: Participate in Preview programs, Raider Registration/Orientation, campus visits, and other recruitment events.
• Other duties as assigned.
