Job summary

Southern NH Medical Center in Nashua, NH is seeking an Admission Nurse to join the Patient Care Services team. The role supports the ED and inpatient units by facilitating admissions from the ED or community, working closely with ED staff, Nursing Supervisors, and the inpatient team to start the admission process.

You will deliver nursing care using a patient-centered approach, with emphasis on smooth throughput and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree in Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Registered Nurse with NH license or compact state.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in acute care.
• Understanding of patient transport – unit to unit and admission protocols.
• Clinical experience in Cardiac Telemetry.
• Previous Admission Nurse experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the admission process with inpatient providers, primary nurses, other disciplines, and inpatient floors to ensure comprehensive care.
• Ensures efficient admission process for patients originating in ED or from the community.
• Delivers nursing care using a patient-centered approach and the Professional Practice Model.
