Admission Counselor
Job Summary
Reporting to an Associate Director of Admission, the AdmissionCounselors aid in all aspects of the admission process from initialrecruitment of prospective students to the review and assessment ofapplications. In addition to conducting large and small groupinformation sessions on the Rollins campus, counselors travel tomeet with students, parents, and guidance counselors. Counselorsparticipate in the admission selection process and host on campusevents for prospective and accepted students.
Essential Job Functions
- Strategic Recruitment & Enrollment Management
- Develop recruitment strategies to target specific studentpopulations
- Conduct interviews with admission candidates
- Recruitment Events & Outreach
- Oversee and participate in special programs and projects
- Build and maintain strong relationships with campus partners,venues, and vendors
- Admissions & Prospective Student Engagement
- Communicate with prospective students, parents, and guidancecounselors by phone and email to guide them through the admissionprocess
- Participate in the selection of candidates for admission byreviewing and evaluating applications
- Conduct large and small group information sessions forprospective students and parents
- Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students,engaging through various communication channels (phone, email,chat, text, and in-person meetings) to guide them through theadmissions funnel
- Represent the school at on-campus events, conferences, careerfairs, and networking events
- Process application materials, conduct interviews, evaluatecandidates, and render admission decisions
- Cultivate strong connections with prospective students byproviding personalized guidance and support to help them exploregraduate business programs
- Organize personalized visits for prospective students
- Recruitment Travel
- Travel to designated territories to recruit prospectivestudents through college fairs and high school visits with guidancecounselors and students
Minimum Qualifications & Education
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of one years of higher education and/or admissionexperience
- Possess a valid driver's license, or ability to obtain a Florida driver's license within 30 days of accepting the job, and acceptable motor vehicle record
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Superior interpersonal skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience in public speaking to both large and smallgroups
- Organization
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Rollins College and Winter Park/Orlando area
- Knowledge of college admission processes
- Event Planning
Work Environment
- Campus-based, front-facing customer service position, workingin an office and meeting environment.
- Regular use of a computer and databases
- Must be able to travel and work flexible hours which includesevenings, and weekends based on business needs
