Job summary

Rollins College is seeking an Admission Counselor to support the Office of Admissions. The role involves guiding prospective students through the admissions process, presenting information sessions on campus, and traveling to recruit in designated territories.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of one year of higher education and/or admission experience.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, or ability to obtain a Florida driver's license within 30 days of accepting the job, and acceptable motor vehicle record

Responsibilities

  • Develop recruitment strategies to target specific student populations and conduct interviews with admission candidates.
  • Oversee and participate in special programs and projects; build relationships with campus partners, venues, and vendors.
  • Communicate with prospective students, parents, and guidance counselors by phone and email to guide them through the admission process; participate in candidate review and admission decisions.
  • Represent Rollins at on-campus events, conferences, career fairs, and networking events and travel to designated territories for recruitment.
  • Process application materials, conduct interviews, evaluate candidates, and render admission decisions.
  • Organize personalized visits for prospective students.

Job Summary

Reporting to an Associate Director of Admission, the Admission Counselors aid in all aspects of the admission process from initial recruitment of prospective students to the review and assessment of applications. In addition to conducting large and small group information sessions on the Rollins campus, counselors travel to meet with students, parents, and guidance counselors. Counselors participate in the admission selection process and host on campus events for prospective and accepted students.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Strategic Recruitment & Enrollment Management
    • Develop recruitment strategies to target specific student populations
    • Conduct interviews with admission candidates
  2. Recruitment Events & Outreach
    • Oversee and participate in special programs and projects
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with campus partners, venues, and vendors
  3. Admissions & Prospective Student Engagement
    • Communicate with prospective students, parents, and guidance counselors by phone and email to guide them through the admission process
    • Participate in the selection of candidates for admission by reviewing and evaluating applications
    • Conduct large and small group information sessions for prospective students and parents
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students, engaging through various communication channels (phone, email, chat, text, and in-person meetings) to guide them through the admissions funnel
    • Represent the school at on-campus events, conferences, career fairs, and networking events
    • Process application materials, conduct interviews, evaluate candidates, and render admission decisions
    • Cultivate strong connections with prospective students by providing personalized guidance and support to help them explore graduate business programs
    • Organize personalized visits for prospective students
  4. Recruitment Travel
    • Travel to designated territories to recruit prospective students through college fairs and high school visits with guidance counselors and students
Minimum Qualifications & Education
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of one years of higher education and/or admission experience
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, or ability to obtain a Florida driver's license within 30 days of accepting the job, and acceptable motor vehicle record
