The University of Maryland, Baltimore Police Department (UMBPD) & Public Safety has an exciting opportunity for a Police Communications Administrator.

The selected candidate will provide direct oversight of emergency communication services through multi-channel radios, telephones, and monitoring of computer terminals to maintain the safety and security of the University of Maryland, Baltimore campus. This position supports the mission and vision of the department.

Primary Duties:
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement, emergency management, criminal justice, homeland security, information technology, or related field.
Experience: Five (5) years of progressive experience in police communications, including one (1) year in the development and maintenance of a police communications database system.
Supervisory Experience: Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a police communication or emergency management environment.
Certification/Licensure: CJIS and/or NCIC certification to operate in a public safety environment at time of hire or must obtain within nine (9) months of employment.
Other: Ability to pass a comprehensive background assessment.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Thorough knowledge of position requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to communicate effectively and support a mission and strategic vision.
Hiring Range: $110,000 - $117,000, commensurate with education and experience.
