Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 years of experience with GCP administration is essential.

Job description

We Are Hiring
  • Department:Data Delivery Governance
  • Schedule:Full-time, 8 hour day shift, Monday - Friday
  • Location:Remote
What You Will Do

Manages administration and maintenance of assigned database technologies, function(s), and/or resources within the realm of GCP environments, in addition to providing DBA lead and managerial oversight.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage installation and maintenance support for all in-scope database technology disciplines
  • Develop processes and standards for best-practice optimization of GCP database technology configurations, performance, backup/recovery, and security
  • Manage processes for governing GCP database access
  • Maintain GCP database platforms with proper upgrade and patching cycles
  • Effectively diagnose and troubleshoot database issues in collaboration with other infrastructure teams
  • Recommend and implement emerging database technologies
  • Develop and manage database platform reports, visualizations, and dashboards
  • Investigate and recommend solutions to enhance data resilience for all database technologies
  • Be available for on-call support, as needed

Skills:

  • Expertise with utilizing database management tools for all supported database technology disciplines
  • Knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring best-practices
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud technologies, such as BQ, CloudSQL, Cloud Functions, GCVE, or their counterparts
  • Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling
  • PowerShell and Unix shell scripting skills
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts and design, such as TCP protocol, DNS, etc
  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Impeccable attention to detail
What You Will Need

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences

Education and Experience Preferences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
  • 5 to 10 years of experience with enterprise levels of GCP administration or data engineering
  • Administrative experience with multiple database disciplines, such as MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
  • Experience with working in Microsoft Azure, Google GCP, and other cloud-based disciplines
