Position Summary
The Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) provides executive leadership and overall operational management of the nursing home. The Administrator is responsible for ensuring exceptional resident care, regulatory compliance, financial performance, employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and strategic growth while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Executive Leadership
- Provide overall leadership and direction for all facility operations.
- Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with organizational goals.
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, teamwork, and resident-centered care.
- Lead department heads through regular leadership meetings and performance reviews.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, families, physicians, employees, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain compliance with CMS, State Department of Health, OSHA, HIPAA, and all applicable regulations.
- Ensure survey readiness at all times.
- Oversee corrective action plans following state surveys.
- Monitor quality measures and Five-Star Quality Rating performance.
- Ensure timely reporting of incidents and required regulatory documentation.
Clinical Oversight
Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to:
- Maintain quality resident care.
- Improve clinical outcomes.
- Reduce hospital readmissions.
- Reduce infections.
- Improve resident satisfaction.
- Ensure staffing meets regulatory requirements.
- Support interdisciplinary care planning.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage annual operating budgets.
- Monitor labor costs, agency utilization, census, and expenses.
- Improve profitability while maintaining quality care.
- Review monthly financial statements.
- Approve capital expenditures.
- Identify cost-saving initiatives.
- Manage vendor contracts and purchasing.
Human Resources Leadership
Partner with Human Resources to:
- Recruit and retain qualified staff.
- Improve employee engagement.
- Reduce turnover.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws.
- Support leadership development.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels.
- Address employee relations concerns.
Census Development
- Develop strategies to increase admissions.
- Build relationships with hospitals and referral sources.
- Monitor occupancy trends.
- Collaborate with admissions and marketing teams.
- Improve resident satisfaction and reputation.
Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement (QAPI)
- Chair the QAPI Committee.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Analyze quality data and implement action plans.
- Promote continuous process improvement.
- Ensure follow-up on performance improvement initiatives.
Risk Management
- Reduce liability exposure.
- Oversee incident investigations.
- Monitor workers' compensation claims.
- Ensure emergency preparedness.
- Maintain disaster preparedness plans.
- Coordinate risk reduction initiatives.
Customer Service
- Promote exceptional resident and family satisfaction.
- Resolve complaints promptly.
- Maintain positive community relations.
- Participate in resident and family council meetings.

Required Qualifications
- Current Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) license.
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience.
- Minimum 3 years of nursing home administrator experience preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of CMS regulations.
- Strong financial and operational management experience.
