Job summary

The University of Maine Cooperative Extension Cumberland County office is seeking an experienced Administrative Support Supervisor to lead our administrative team and safeguard efficient office operations. Job description

The University of Maine Cooperative Extension is seeking an experienced and service-oriented Administrative Support Supervisor to join our Cumberland County office team. This position plays a key role in ensuring effective county office operations by supervising administrative support staff, coordinating office systems and resources, supporting educational programs and events, and serving as a primary point of contact for clients, volunteers, community partners, and the public. Working collaboratively with Extension faculty, staff, the Cumberland County Extension Association, and county government, the successful candidate will oversee administrative, financial, communications, facilities, and recordkeeping functions that support Extension’s educational mission. The ideal candidate will be an organized and collaborative supervisor who provides excellent customer service, manages multiple priorities effectively, and fosters a respectful, efficient, and welcoming office environment.

Part-time, regular position, 32 hours per week. This position pays $23.88/hour, or applicable transfer rate.

Knowledge and Skill Qualifications We Are Looking For:

Required:

These are required knowledge and skills so be sure that you demonstrate how you meet each one in your resume or cover letter.

  • 60 credits or more of higher education or equivalent work experience and training; AND five years administrative support experience.
  • Experience in office settings, performing a variety of routine to non-routine clerical and administrative support responsibilities and tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using oral, written and electronic methods.
  • Proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, as well as Google Drive and document management software.
  • Experience in handling office bookkeeping, Quickbooks preferred; bank deposits; reconciliation of accounts and processing confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in an autonomous work environment as well work effectively as part of a team, and able to achieve and document measurable results.

  • Knowledge of University of Maine Cooperative Extension and its educational programs.
  • Experience with UMaine’s General Ledger and MaineStreet systems.
  • Ability to maintain moderately complex databases.
