Executive Director - Turtle Creek Valley Council of Governments

Position: Administrative Support Clerk (Part-time)

Schedule: Wednesday through Friday, 11am – 4pm

General Description:

The Turtle Creek Valley Council of Governments (TCVCOG) is a non-profit organization comprising twenty local government members in the eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh. We facilitate cooperative municipal efforts and manage shared municipal services for member towns. We seek a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented individual to support our Utility Billing program and perform clerical office functions. Opportunities for promotion and full-time employment are available based on performance and organizational fit.

Examples of Work:
  1. Front Desk/Reception:
    • Answer phones and assist visitors at the front desk
    • Open and organize mail
  2. Administration:
    • Process bills for participating towns in the Accounts Payables shared service
    • Balance bank statements
    • Update website and manage social media
  3. Utility Billing:
    • Enter utility bill payments into software
    • Generate utility bills and post penalties
    • Process credit card payments over the phone
    • Handle electronic utility payments
    • Assist with lien processes and letters
    • Attend software training sessions
    • Travel locally to banks, post offices, and member towns as needed
    • Work independently with reliability
Compensation:

$16/hour starting rate, with a cap at $22/hour

Working Conditions:

Office located in Monroeville, PA

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Personable, team-oriented, eager to learn
  • Ability to work independently
  • High school diploma, trade school, or GED
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows
  • Knowledge of financial software is a plus
  • Interest in local government is a plus
