SALARY: The salary range for this position is $69,594.51 to $120,831.39 for Schedule A, and $69,594.51 to $114,789.82 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.Judiciary employees hired prior to August 29, 2015, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after August 29, 2015, are considered Schedule B.

The Middlesex Vicinage is seeking a goal and customer-oriented professional with excellent technical, accounting, and financial management skills and the ability to successfully interact with both internal and external customers. Under the general direction of the Court Executive 1b (Assistant Finance Division Manager), the selected candidate will perform professional administrative and cash management functions for the court held funds and revenues unit and supervise the diverse work activities of a team composed of support personnel within the Finance Division. The responsibilities of this office encompass the acceptance, processing, internal control and system management of court ordered payments and filings to include but not limited to Bail, Child Support, Probation Fines and Restitutions, Civil, General Equity and Family Law Division filings, Special Civil Part filings, and other miscellaneous sanctions and application fees.

REMOTE WORK:The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.

Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.

  • Advising management on deadlines, rules, regulations, or related information

  • Ensuring staff accountability and conducting formal performance evaluations
  • Preparing agendas for and holding monthly staff meetings
  • Preparing statistical, technical and financial reports
  • Developing team goals and work schedules
  • Implementing leadership strategies to accomplish goals
  • Communicating the best operational needs to the unit and the organization
  • Participating in statewide committees
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by 21 credits hours in accounting, business administration, economics, public administration and/or finance. Twelve of these credit hours must be in accounting and three years of professional experience, one year of which shall have included experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, cash management and/or financial analysis.

Substitution:Applicants who do not possess the required education but do possess the required 21 credit hours in accounting, business administration, economics, public administration, and/or finance, including 12 accounting credit hours, may substitute paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis. A master's degree may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above –OR– a CPA designation may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above.

A copy of your transcript that shows you have completed the required 21 credit hours with at least 12 in accounting, must be included when applying. Failure to provide the requested information will disqualify you from consideration.
Driver's License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.

Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.

Residency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.
