Responsibilities

  • Interviewing consumers and gathering diagnostic reports to assist counselors with determining eligibility and required services.
  • Assisting counselors with developing written plans of services in conjunction with the client, parent and/ or guardian.
  • Documenting casework data and the provision of substantial services throughout the rehabilitation process in the case management system.
  • Monitoring client progress throughout the service delivery process.
  • Processing invoices and billing documents, scheduling appointments, filing, inputting casework data, and completing correspondence to support client services.
  • Working with community employers/partners to assist in directly placing highly qualified clients in appropriate jobs leading to successful employment outcomes.

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest, most complex agencies in the state, and has approximately 17,000 employees. It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.

This Rehabilitation Casework Technician position is located in the Charlotte VR/IL Unit Office. The primary purpose of this position is to provide casework and service delivery support to the Rehabilitation Counselors and Human Service Coordinators providing transition services to students and young adults with disabilities in Mecklenburg County. This positions provides client services in various settings, including schools and in the community.

Salary Range: $39,244 - $68,679

Recruitment Range: $39,244 - $49,000
