Job Overview

Position Title: Administrative Security Assistant (PERSEC) Hybrid

Reports To: Program Manager

Clearance Required: Top Secret clearance

Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid: 3 days onsite/week)

Start Date: Urgently hiring, in several weeks

Job Description

Advantage SCI is seeking candidates to support a federal agency's personnel security program. The role involves coordinating between HR and Security divisions, managing security investigations, and supporting security procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Act as liaison between HR and Security divisions, explaining onboarding processes and supporting vetting questions.
  2. Respond to inquiries about investigation statuses and related actions.
  3. Initiate background investigation forms at appropriate levels.
  4. Track security application completion and provide updates.
  5. Conduct quality reviews of security applications and present findings.
  6. Support scanning, submitting fingerprint cards, and verifying results.
  7. Assist in routing credit reports, court records, and other investigative elements.
  8. Manage case activities within the case management system.
  9. Support enrollment/disenrollment in FBI RAPBACK and Continuous Evaluation systems.
  10. Log and process incoming mail.
  11. Respond promptly to email inquiries.
  12. Assist with employee out-processing to maintain accurate personnel records.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or Personnel Security-related field, or 2 years of relevant federal experience
  • At least 2 years of Federal HR or Personnel Security experience
  • Strong administrative skills, including file organization and maintenance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems
  • Excellent communication skills, especially with high-level visitors
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with FBI RAPBACK system
  • Additional HR experience
Working Conditions
  • Extended periods at a computer keyboard
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, reach, sit, stand, walk, and run
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
