Administrative Secretary - Oncology

Summa Health - Akron City Campus

Full-Time / 40 Hours / Days (M-F 7:30a-4p)

$23.75/hr - $28.49/hr

Supports Director or Chair by organizing, coordinating and performing a variety of secretarial and administrative tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures. Assists with project management and overall organization of assigned office.

Minimum Education:

  • High school level course work in English grammar, composition, and basic mathematics

Minimum Work Experience:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years' advanced secretarial experience required that has included intermediate level word processing and coordination of various projects and deadlines.

Required Skills Knowledge:

  • a. Typing proficiency of 50 wpm with accuracy must pass Microsoft Office applications skills assessment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • b. Knowledge of medical terminology
  • c. Proficient use of spreadsheets and presentation programs; ability to acquire skills in the utilization of additional personal computer applications as required by position
  • d. Ability to work independently on assigned tasks, referring special problems and unusual circumstances to supervisor
  • e. Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and display flexibility
  • f. Ability to perform and serve in a leadership role within a work in a team environment
  • g. Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and over the telephone
  • h. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity
