Administrative Role + Head Women’s Basketball Coach
The Administrator and Head Women’s Basketball Coach position combines key administrative responsibilities within the University with leadership of the women’s basketball program. The role emphasizes fostering academic and athletic excellence, promoting a positive team culture, and ensuring compliance with policies at all levels. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to student-athlete success both on and off the court.
Administrative Role
• Tailored to the candidate’s experience and the University’s needs in administrative or instructional capacities.
Head Coaching Responsibilities:
- Create a Christ-centered team community prioritizing athletes’ spiritual growth.
- Promote Christian sportsmanship reflecting the values of a Biblical University.
- Maintain professionalism in communication, organization, and conduct.
- Attend Athletic Department meetings and training sessions.
- Follow regulations from the Athletic Department Coach Manual, University policies, league, and Title IX.
- Manage operational, administrative, and financial activities of the program.
- Coordinate with Athletic Trainer on athlete health and preparation.
- Communicate with Sports Information Coordinator regarding roster, schedule, and media.
- Ensure compliance with all rules by athletes and staff.
- Participate in conference coaching calls, nominations, and voting.
- Enforce facility rules, regulations, and cleanliness.
- Represent the Athletics Department at recruiting events and open houses.
- Coordinate with admissions and recruitment on athlete enrollment.
- Inventory and identify equipment needs seasonally.
- Supervise assistant coaches.
- Transport team to and from games.
- Assist in evaluating programs, personnel, and facilities.
- Demonstrate deep sport knowledge and focus on skill development and game strategy.
- Plan and conduct practices to improve skills and knowledge.
- Design off-season training programs.
- Scout and recruit prospective athletes.
- Uphold ethical standards, preventing hazing and discrimination.
- Provide feedback and conduct disciplinary consultations as needed.
- Mentor student-athletes effectively.
Other Duties
- Support the “Student Link” academic program and meet with students needing academic help.
- Coordinate with the disability services office for student support.
- Manage and update Beacon, the student alert system.
- Oversee study hall in the Student Success department.
Work Environment
Primarily office-based with regular sitting, standing, walking, and light lifting. Some travel is expected.
