About This Job

The Louisiana State Police Special Investigations Section (SIS) is anticipating a vacancy for an Administrative Program Specialist-A. LSP SIS is a group of four statewide units that address specific crimes using specialized techniques, tools, and training. This section includes the Special Victims Unit, the Insurance Fraud/Auto Theft Unit, the Technical Support Unit, and the Cyber Crime Unit. This Administrative Program Specialist-A position serves both administrative and program functions within LSP SIS. Duties include serving as confidential assistant to the statewide Commander, coordinating SIS personnel matters with Human Resources and Civil Service, managing payroll and other administrative duties, and assisting the Commander and OICs with visibility and implementation of program goals for all four units.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience in administrative services; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR

A bachelor's degree.

Experience Substitution

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties

As an Administrative Program Specialist-A, you will assist with program operations, coordinate administrative functions, and ensure the effective implementation of policies and procedures to support organizational goals. In this role, you will:

Position-Specific Details
  • Appointment Type: Classified-Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment.
  • Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday—Friday.
  • Location: This vacancy is located in the Special Investigation Section in the Office of State Police located in East Baton Rouge Parish.
  • Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
