The University of Texas at Austin is seeking an Administrative Program Coordinator in Facilities Services to oversee the student intern program for Zero Waste initiatives across campus and JJ Pickle Research Campus. You’ll supervise interns, help design and manage programs, develop education materials, and provide event support and reporting tools.

Support the Zero Waste efforts through training and supervision of student interns, while working on Zero Waste projects and event support throughout The University of Texas at Austin and the JJ Pickle Research Campus locations.
Bachelor's degree plus one year of directly related experience working with students or in a sustainability program. Student leadership experience will count toward the one year of experience. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Ability to work in all weather conditions and around bees. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to work with waste, including recycling, landfill, compost, and batteries. Must possess and maintain a valid Class "C" Texas driver's license. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas driver's license within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
More than one year of experience leading students in sustainability programs. Graphic design and social media experience, including the use of Adobe Creative Suite and Canva. Familiarity with Excel and data analysis. Demonstrated ability in problem‑solving, decision‑making, critical thinking, and good record‑keeping. Detail‑oriented and the ability to prioritize multiple projects concurrently.
This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre‑employment, post‑accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return‑to‑duty, and follow‑up drug and alcohol testing).
$55,000 + depending on qualifications
40 hours per week Monday-Friday. Daily schedule may change to accommodate events and project work, including evenings and weekends.
Regular staff who have been employed in their current position for the last six continuous months are eligible for openings being recruited for through University‑Wide or Open Recruiting, to include both promotional opportunities and lateral transfers. Staff who are promotion/transfer eligible may apply for positions without supervisor approval.
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
A criminal history background check will be required for finalist(s) under consideration for this position.
