This position is assigned to NC Department of Adult Correction, Special Operations and Intelligence Unit (SOIU) and is located at the Yonkers Road Complex in Raleigh, NC.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Special Operations Director, this position is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, maintaining and managing the administrative, personnel, budget/fiscal and purchasing affairs of the Special Operations and Intelligence Unit. Responsibilities include the following:
- Provides specialized purchasing and budget management and manages inventory of equipment to include scheduled and unscheduled purchases, distribution, exchanges, and inventories
- Responsible for annual verification and reporting of inventories and for maintaining electronic inventory records
- Manages travel arrangements; consolidates budget information/data for multiple funding streams (ex., develop RFPs, and manage asset forfeiture and fixed assets)
- Processes, maintains, and monitors personnel functions for the section to include hiring, benefits, and disciplinary actions, disability, leave of absence/separations and worker's compensation, military leave, FMLA and insurance and deductions in addition to managing FIORI activity for the section to include SAP, time management, time entry, time approval, time quota, pay, deductions and all other related issues
- Communicates with Leadership, government officials, vendors, and the public frequently
- Tracks, monitors, and advises the Director of progress for assigned projects
- Directly supervises administrative staff
This position interacts with Special Operations and Intelligence personnel at all levels on a daily basis. Much of the work performed by this position is confidential in nature, with occasional contact with Federal stakeholders.
