The St. Cloud VA Health Care System (REC ICC) seeks an Administrative Specialist to provide coordination and analytical support for administrative program operations. The role ensures properly routed documentation and organized workflows that support leadership decision-making.
Applicants should have at least one year of specialized experience at GS-07 level or higher, with a master's degree or two years of graduate study as an eligible substitution. PowerBI experience is preferred.
This position is located in the Rehabilitation and Extended Care (REC) Integrated Clinical Community (ICC) at the St. Cloud VA Health Care System. The position provides administrative coordination and performs analytical and evaluative work supporting administrative program operations across the Service Line providing administrative coordination to ensure programs have accurate information, properly routed documentation, and organized workflows that support leadership decision-making.
Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.

Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.B. or J.D. in a related field that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted with application. Education cannot be credited without documentation.
Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an equivalent combination of specialized experience as listed above and graduate level education beyond the first year or 18 semester hours. NOTE: If using education combined with specialized experience to qualify, a copy of your transcript is required.
Work experience that is applicable to equipment, supplies, post-acute and long-term care, rehabilitation, geriatrics, and data analysis to include but not limited to VHA Support Service Center (VSSC), and PowerBI.
Work is primarily sedentary with routine movement for file retrieval or material collection. Occasional light lifting of administrative items is required. No special physical effort is needed.
Work is performed in a typical administrative office with frequent interruptions, shifting priorities, and regular interactions with staff. Occasional movement throughout the medical center is required. Travel is infrequent and limited to Service Line needs.
