We are looking for a full-time Administrative Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration and management of the administrative services functions for the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney comprised of 47 full‑time employees. This includes providing professional assistance to the Commonwealth’s Attorney with planning, programming, budgeting, and organizing the administrative activities of the department.
What You Will Do
As a member of our diverse and committed team, you will develop and direct an integrated administrative support system which includes all office functions and activities involving personnel, fiscal and budget policies, procedures, and transaction policies, in addition to coordinating high school and college interns and serving as the financial officer for grants received by the office.

Completion of the requirements for graduation from an accredited college or university with a B.A. in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field. A Master’s degree in public administration, or related field is desirable.
The starting salary for this role is $98,000 annually, open to negotiation. Starting salary will depend upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate selected.
Special Requirements
A pre‑hire background check will be made on all candidates who are selected for employment. It may include checks of criminal record, driving record, education, professional licensure, and credit history. You will be required to sign a release authorizing the County to obtain your background information.
The applicant must possess, or obtain by time of appointment, a valid motor vehicle operator's license from the applicant's place of residence or willingness to use alternative modes of transportation. The applicant must authorize Arlington County to obtain, or provide a copy of the applicant's official state/district driving record. An offer of employment may be contingent upon a favorable review of the applicant's driving record.

Work hours: Full‑time, Monday through Friday with flexibility for occasional evening and weekend hours as needed. Limited telework is available.
