Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Administers GCIC/NCIC training records and liaises with CIIS matters.
  • Enters data on warrants and police reports; runs criminal history and forwards to division.
  • Researches tag records and driver histories as needed.
  • Assists receptionist as needed.
  • Enters Official Based Tracking System forms for dismissed cases.
  • Researches prospective jurors for possible criminal charges.
  • Researches dispositions for old cases to aid GCIC; verifies dispositions for Instant Gun Checks.
  • Verifies status of outstanding warrants for warrant validation packages.
  • Maintains log of expungement requests and forwards to arresting agency.
  • Performs defendants' background checks eligible for parole.
  • Assists in maintaining the evidence vault.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job description

TheAdministrative Investigative Support Technician III position is responsible for providing administrative and technical support to the District Attorney's Office.

  • Administers and maintains records of GCIC terminal operator/practitioner training program; serves as liaison between agency head and GCIC for CIIS related matters.
  • Enters data concerning warrants and police reports; runs criminal history; forwards to appropriate division.
  • Researches tag records, driver’s histories, and other criminal histories as needed.
  • Assists receptionist as needed.
  • Enters all Official Based Tracking System forms for dismissed cases.
  • Researches prospective jurors for possible criminal charges.
  • Researches dispositions on old cases as needed to aid GCIC.
  • Checks and verifies dispositions for Instant Gun Checks.
  • Verifies status of outstanding warrants for warrant validation packages.
  • Maintains log of expungement requests; sends to attorney for approval; enters response; forwards to arresting agency.
  • Performs Defendants background checks eligible for parole.
  • Assists in maintaining the evidence vault.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

The Administrative/Investigative Support Technician III should possess, at a minimum, a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five (5) years of work experience performing high level administrative support duties, three (3) of which were in a legal or court setting performing related work; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

  • Knowledge of: legal procedures, forms, documents and terminology, business letter writing, general office procedures and practices, the Uniform Rules of the Court, correct English grammar, spelling and punctuation, as well as arithmetic computations.
  • Ability to readily obtain GCIC/NCIC certification.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to provide a full range of legal secretarial services, handle confidential materials with discretion, research and compile data, establish communication and maintain a working relationship with others, work independently, learn, understand, develop, and implement new office procedures and prepare or supervise the preparation of technical data.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality and security of private or confidential information.
  • Ability to work effectively with members of all levels within the organization and public.
  • Ability to achieve results on a timely basis.
