As an Administrative Fellow, you will have the opportunity to be involved in various areas within Community Health System. Your strategic development of work plans and business opportunities will help shape many initiatives system wide. You will collaborate with teams in operations, finance, strategy, managed care, ambulatory care, policy, planning and marketing. You will also work closely with Executive Leadership leadership across the Community Health System and may attend administrative, medical, board, and hospital meetings as an occasional participant, with the potential to serve as a member.
The first month of the fellowship begins with 1:1 meetings with Executive Leaderships from across the Community Health System. You will foster relationships with Executive Leaderships, explore areas of interest and gain an appreciation for the various roles each department or area plays in achieving Community Health System’s business goals and strategy. Additionally, you will shadow your preceptor and have ongoing weekly meetings to debrief your experiences, ask questions and discuss projects.
The next five months are spent rotating across the system. You will round through approximately 82 areas for anywhere from four hours to three days. Additionally, after rounding across a functional area (nursing, operations, outpatient, ancillary, etc.) you will shadow an Executive Leadership leader for a full day to debrief.
During this timeframe, short-term projects may be identified by the fellows, Executive Leaderships, rounding supervisors and/or preceptors. These short-term projects enable you to meaningfully support a department and contribute value to the organization.
The last six months are open to you to take on a larger, long-term project and/or take on an interim role within the organization.
For more information, consider attending an informational webinar! The panel will include the Executive Leadership preceptors and current and past fellows.
