Role Overview
The Nursing Services Administrative Leader oversees and directs all nursing departments and clinical services, including Medical/Surgical Units, Emergency Department, Surgical Services, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, and related clinics. Responsible for strategic planning, operational management, and continuous improvement to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for nursing operations, developing care systems that optimize patient flow, safety, and quality outcomes.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring financial performance aligns with organizational goals.
- Foster collaboration among physicians, staff, and leadership to promote excellence in patient care and staff satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and investigate patient care concerns for timely resolution.
- Lead quality assurance initiatives, analyze data, and implement improvements.
- Manage personnel through recruitment, retention, orientation, and professional development; evaluate staff performance and promote leadership growth.
- Develop operational policies, oversee resource utilization, and lead participation in committees to represent nursing interests.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; RN licensure from an accredited nursing program. Preferred: BSN or higher in Nursing or Healthcare Administration.
- Experience: 3-5 years of operations management experience preferred.
- Certifications/Licensure: Valid RN license, Texas Driver's License, Basic Life Support (BLS), auto liability insurance. BLS to be obtained within 90 days.
