Role Overview:
The position involves providing strategic leadership and oversight for all nursing departments and clinical services, including units such as Medical/Surgical, Emergency, Surgical, and Cardiac Catheterization Lab. The role requires developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care standards to ensure high-quality, patient-centered outcomes operating at an executive level, with accountability for maintaining practice standards and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead operational strategies across nursing services and participate in organizational planning and process improvements.
- Develop and sustain a comprehensive system of care promoting smooth patient flow, cost-effectiveness, and seamless transitions between care settings.
- Manage departmental budgets, ensure regulatory compliance, and monitor performance metrics.
- Foster collaboration among physicians, staff, and leadership to ensure excellence in patient care and staff satisfaction.
- Oversee quality assurance, investigate patient care concerns, and ensure regulatory standards (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission) are met.
- Lead personnel management, including recruitment, professional development, performance evaluation, and leadership cultivation.
- Develop operational policies, analyze data for decision-making, and lead service expansion initiatives.
- Maintain departmental facilities and equipment for safe, efficient care delivery.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; RN licensure from an accredited nursing program essential. BSN or higher preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years in operations management preferred.
- Licensure & Certification: Current RN license, Texas driver’s license, auto liability insurance, and BLS certification (within 90 days).
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, strategic planning, financial management, and regulatory knowledge.
Additional Requirements:
- Proven ability to analyze activities and outcomes, resolve problems efficiently, and lead program development.
- Ability to establish effective relationships with senior management, physicians, and staff.
- Experience in healthcare operations, personnel management, and regulatory compliance is preferred.
