Job summary

Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) seeks an Administrative Director for the Department of Community and Public Health to lead high-impact programs, grants, and outreach across Western North Carolina. The role focuses on strategic planning, program management, and staff supervision to advance health outcomes.

The position oversees budget and HR functions, drives data-driven decision making, and fosters collaboration with UNC Health Sciences, MAHEC partners, and community stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a BA/BS with a master’s degree preferred and 5–10 years of experience in program management and supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent personnel management skills.
• Ability to establish productive relationships and engage with stakeholders and leaders across organizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic and operational plans for the department’s programs, grants, and evaluation needs.
• Provide oversight to departmental leaders to guide work and achieve strategic objectives.
• Manage budget and all aspects of human resources for the department.
• Develop and maintain collaborations with internal and external partners to advance initiatives.
