BOLI, Employer Assistance Division is seeking an Administrative Coordinator (AS2) to support core program operations and deliver high‑quality customer service. This Portland‑based hybrid position requires onsite work at least two days per week and plays a key role in coordinating statewide trainings, managing complex administrative workflows, and providing accurate guidance on wage and hour and civil rights laws. The role is essential to ensuring smooth program functioning, responsive service, and consistent support for both internal and external stakeholders.

Our mission… Led by Labor Commissioner Christina Stephenson, the Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI) work to ensure that Oregon jobs are good jobs, where workers get paid what they are owed and have a discrimination‑free work environment. BOLI protects workers’ rights through enforcement of state labor laws, ensures adherence to civil rights law in public spaces and housing, promotes the development of a highly skilled workforce through registered apprenticeship programs, and provides training and confidential assistance to Oregon employers so they have the tools they need to comply with workplace rules.
This position requires frequent use of a computer and telephone, with regular engagement in high‑volume communication. The role involves standing for moderate periods to pack seminar materials, occasionally lifting and moving boxes up to 50 pounds, and assisting with onsite seminar setup, including carrying materials and arranging equipment, tables, and chairs. The employee may interact with frustrated or hostile customers both in person and over the phone. A regular 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. schedule and consistent attendance are essential, as the Employer Assistance Division depends on this position to respond promptly to employer inquiries when training staff and the manager are conducting seminars or working offsite.
Under Oregon’s 2017 Pay Equity Law, your salary step is based on the experience, education, training, and certifications you submit in your application materials. This is a PERS‑qualifying position. New PERS members receive a 6.95% salary increase and contribute 6% to PERS after a six‑month waiting period. Current PERS members already have the 6.95% contribution added to base salary.
