Job summary

Sonoco, Newport, TN is seeking an Administrative Coordinator for a full-time in-office role. You will support financial accounting tasks, purchasing, timekeeping, and general administration under the Office Manager.

You will handle invoices, data entry, payroll timekeeping, and month-end close activities while maintaining records for audits. This position offers a stable schedule and opportunities for growth within manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in administrative, accounting, or office support roles.
  • Familiarity with accounting systems, purchasing workflows, and timekeeping.
  • High School diploma required; accounting degree preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Experience with incentive pay calculations and inventory tracking is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with financial accounting tasks, including invoice processing, data entry, and reconciliations.
  • Support purchasing activities and vendor communications; manage records.
  • Take, reconcile, and enter inventory counts on a schedule.
  • Complete month-end close tasks accurately and on time.
  • Maintain organized records and assist in audits and reporting.
  • General office duties: filing, scheduling, and correspondence.
  • Support payroll timekeeping and payroll duties; weekly incentive pay calculations.
  • Own employee engagement and community outreach programs on-site.
  • Collaborate with departments for day-to-day operations.
  • Participate in Sonoco Performance System initiatives and plant productivity improvements.
