Job summary

North American Medical Associates is seeking a WC/PIP Administrative Assistant to support the Worker Compensation/Personal Injury team. You will help interpret priorities, maintain HIPAA-compliant records, and ensure patient needs are met in a fast-paced office.

This role involves data collection, meeting minutes, reporting, and coordinating with staff and attorneys. Full-time opportunity with competitive benefits including health, PTO, and 401k.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients, adjusters, and attorneys with workers' comp or PI claims.
  • Coordinate appointments and support doctors in the WC/PIP program.
  • Gather and prepare paperwork for attorneys and physicians.
  • Set up IMEs and narrative reports with clinicians and staff.
  • Summarize patient accidents in notes and keep claim status up to date.

Job Summary

The administrative assistant, working closely with the Worker Compensation-Personal Injury team, to promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization. The role of the WC/PIP Administrative Assistant is to understand the daily needs of the department, interpreting priorities and maintaining an efficient work environment. The WC/PIP Administrative Assistant will work directly with practice staff to understand the flow of the office and to ensure all needs are met for each patients' individual needs. The WC/PIP Administrative Assistant will uphold HIPPA, maintain patient records, explain common medical procedures and assist in the overall success of the department.

Essential & Non-Essential Job Functions/Position Responsibilities
  • Assist patients, claim adjusters, and attorneys with all their needs as it relates to workers comp or personal injury related claims.
  • Assist patients who have been injured at work or in a motor vehicle accident with appointments for the doctors.
  • Assist attorneys in getting the correct paperwork and information they may need.
  • Work with attorneys and the doctors to set up IMEs and Narrative Reports.
  • Verify that the pertinent information regarding the patient's accident is notated in the doctor's office note and make sure the claim adjuster is up to date with their claimant's care.
  • Verify claims are open and active and their medicals bills will be covered. Assist all callers as needed and transfer accordingly in a friendly informative manner while advising caller if a direct number could be dialed next time they call.
  • Maintain open communication lines with all staff.
  • Attend meetings, collect data, and use to develop weekly/monthly/yearly reports, compose meeting minutes, and deliver presentations/reports to internal and external stakeholders, as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of mission and as required to ensure delivery of consistent high-quality services.
  • Hourly rate $20 and up depending on experience

Minimum Education/Certifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
Minimum Work Experience
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience working in work comp/personal injury field

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledge working with Electronic Medical Records. Ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management.
