Administrative Assistant, Part Time, Recreation Department

Hourly Rate: GradeC-7, To start the range is $23.0554/hour-$25.8454/hour, the full range for grade C-7 is $23.0554-$29.0956/hour
Reports to: Recreation Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Affiliation: Clerical Union
Location: Community Center
Work Week: 28 hours/week

The Town of Ashland’s Recreation Department is seeking a part-time Recreation Administrative Assistant. Under the general direction of the Recreation Director the Recreation Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support for the Recreation Department.

Primary functions include but are not limited to the following:

Serve as receptionist for department

Provide customer service in person, via telephone and email

Receive payments for a variety of programs and generate deposits

Maintain spreadsheets for accounts

Pay bills for the department using the Munis system

Process payroll for Community Center and departmental employees

Assist director with programming and activities

Generates monthly publication of departmental activities and events

Serve as office manager

Perform a variety of related duties

Assist in Community Center Rentals

All other duties as assigned by the Director of Recreation

Qualifications

A High School Diploma, 1-3 years of related experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for listed requirements at the discretion of the hiring authority. Must be detail oriented and have excellent clerical and administrative skills. Must have strong computer skills and excellent customer service skills. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the town and the public.
