In this role, you'll manage multiple tasks, handle confidential information, and contribute to planning unforgettable events. Strong communication skills, tech proficiency (MS Office), and attention to detail are key.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Performing high-level, confidential and administrative support functions in the NEXTGen Detroit Department, assisting team members with various tasks
  • Maintain the Director’s calendar, schedule meetings and appointments
  • Responsible for assisting with all aspects of event planning, including scheduling meetings, booking rooms and refreshments, follow-up of RSVPs and preparing materials
  • Using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel for daily communications and tasks
  • Use of Reach, Asana, Mailchimp, internal database and Google platforms as needed
  • Work with staff to manage social media presence on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc
  • Coordinating mailings with IT and Marketing Departments
  • Addressing and appropriately responding to phone and email inquiries
  • Assist with registration at major events throughout the year
  • Role will include working 2 evenings a month, periodic weekend events

Required Skills & Abilities

  • High School diploma, bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Confidentiality a must
  • Professional, well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Excellent communication, people skills and customer service
  • Adept at multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Prior experience assisting Executive level management a plus
