About This Position
The Water Services department is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Administrative Assistant II to support our Internal Business Support Division. This is a dynamic role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys making a meaningful impact through administrative leadership.
What You'll Do
- Support division leadership with high-level administrative functions.
- Manage budgets, draft reports, and assist with policy development.
- Conduct research and analyze operational procedures.
- Coordinate cross-departmental projects and problem-solving efforts.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to staff and the public.
- Develop and implement process improvements.
What We're Looking For
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
- Experience with budgeting, operating procedure development, and administrative research.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proven organizational and time management skills.
- Supervisory experience is a plus.

Salary
Pay Range: $67,516.80 to $109,969.60 annually.
Hiring Range: $67,516.80 to $99,736.00 annually.

- Pay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification.
- Hiring range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.
- Promotions occur when the last two digits of the pay grade increase.
- Demotions occur when the last two digits of the pay grade decrease.
- Lateral transfers occur when there is no change to the last two digits of the pay grade.
- When there is a change in the first digit of the pay grade, there may also be a change to your classification or unit.

Minimum Qualifications
- Three years of professional experience in public administration or governmental research or finance.
- Bachelor's degree in public or business administration or a related field.
- Other combinations of education and experience that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

Preferred Qualifications
- Working with professional experts and senior staff.
- Using Microsoft applications.
- Developing new procedures and policies to improve customer service.
- Developing budget estimates and advising division on budgetary decisions.
- Using applications such as Concur, Legistar, SRM, and SAP.
- Producing written documents with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar.
- Leading or supporting process improvement initiatives.
- Streamlining processes and procedures.
- Developing agendas, scheduling meetings, and coordinating meeting presentations.
- Leading, monitoring, and tracking various projects or initiatives.
- Developing and managing budgets and contracts with attention to accuracy and efficiency.
- Creating reports and tracking performance metrics to support data-driven decisions.
- Assisting with hiring processes and supporting HR-related functions.
