Job summary

What You'll Do:

1) Perform a variety of clerical tasks to include but not limited to: answer, screen and direct phone calls; compose and type correspondence; process invoices, receive payments and record transactions; order and inventory department office supplies; establish, maintain and monitor department specific files; and collect and distribute mail.

2) Maintain clear and consistent communications with all stakeholders including community members, County staff and CSU staff.

3) Support local programming by performing a variety of duties to include but not limited to: prepare flyers; assist with various enrollments; collect fees; etc.

Experience/Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • At least one (1) year of experience in an administrative support role;
  • Any acceptable combination of education, training and experience that provides the listed knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted.
You Also Have The Following Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of: principles and processes for providing excellent customer service, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction; standard office procedures/operations and equipment.

Skilled in: use of basic computer software programs; understanding and applying pertinent laws, rules, regulations and policies; using tact, discretion, initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines; maintaining confidentiality; organizing work, setting priorities, meeting critical deadlines and following up on assignments with minimal direction and supervision; applying logical thinking to solve problems or accomplish tasks; working in a deadline driven environment; initiating and responding to a varied volume of daily calls/contact; interacting with all levels of internal and external professionals while developing strong productive relationships.

Ability to: ensure accuracy in documentation, correspondence, and scheduling; be flexible in the face of challenging schedules, priorities or tasks; think critically and address challenges or issues that arise on the job; manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines efficiently; communicate effectively in writing and verbally; establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with co-workers, other county departments, representatives of other agencies and organizations, and the public.

Additional Details About the Role:

Visual Acuity/Hearing/Speaking: Must be able to write and read; able to hear, see and speak.

Physical Effort/Dexterity: This position works primarily in an office setting with daily routine computer usage; requires the ability to drive a vehicle; light physical exertion and the normal range of motion and dexterity; ability to sit (sometimes for extended periods of time), stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, crawl or climb; ability to lift, pull or drag up to 25 lbs. for short periods of time.

Environmental Factors: Work is generally performed in an office setting; local travel will be required; may require exposure to adverse conditions; such conditions include dirt, noise, rain, snow, and extremes of temperatures during events.

Work Schedule/Characteristics: 20 hours per week; availability outside normal schedule to include weekends and holidays may be required.

License/Certification Requirements: Possession of and ability to maintain a valid Colorado driver's license.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary range: $20.00 - $21.00 / hour

Status: Part-time (typically 20 hours per week), Non-Exempt
