Job Overview: The Administrative Assistant position in the Academic Resource Center (ARC) will serve as the first point of contact for the office, greeting all walk-in traffic, managing administrative processes, and providing customer service for a variety of functional areas. The purpose of this role is to support the ARC’s mission of providing and administering student disability accommodations, including direct assistance with the ARC’s test proctoring service. The Administrative Assistant provides a full range of administrative support to the Academic Resource Center. This position staffs the front desk of the physical office and manages a number of processes and procedures that require direct interaction with students, faculty, staff, and community members on a regular basis. This person performs general administrative duties, which supports the staff and student programs with the Center.
The Academic Resource Center is a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Student contact is extensive and substantial. Staff members work collaboratively within the office and with many other university-wide constituent groups. Staff members are expected to exercise a high degree of responsibility and independent judgment and occasionally work irregular or extended hours. This position is highly administrative and requires a person with strong attention to detail, the ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task, the ability to be flexible and proactive, and a genuine interest in working with students and colleagues across the university, while being responsive to working across differences. The position also calls for a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. The Executive Director of the Academic Resource Center will supervise this position. The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support for six ARC staff members within the office suite.

Pay Range: The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $19.20 - $28.70. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
