Job description

Figure (NASDAQ: FIGR) is transforming capital markets through blockchain. We’re proving that blockchain isn’t just theory - it’s powering real products used by hundreds of thousands of consumers and institutions.

By combining blockchain’s transparency and efficiency with AI-driven automation, we’ve reimagined how loans are originated, funded, and traded in secondary markets. From faster processing times to lower costs and reduced bias, our technology is helping borrowers, investors, and financial institutions achieve better outcomes.

Together with our 170+ partners, we’ve originated over $22 billion in home equity loans (HELOCs) on our blockchain-native platform, making Figure the largest non-bank provider of home equity financing in the U.S. Figure’s ecosystem also includes YLDS, an SEC-registered yield‑bearing stablecoin that operates as a tokenized money market fund, and several other products and platforms that are reshaping consumer finance and capital markets.

Figure is looking for an experienced backend Mortgage/HELOC originating professional to join our Operations team. In this role you will own the Figure HELOC post close process from beginning to end, leveraging your experience and expertise of the role to ensure we have recordable security instruments . The Post Close Operations Associate will manage all investor inquiries related to recorded deed of trust, note, assignments of mortgage, managing/shipping of trailing documents, as well as processing and recording of Assignments of Mortgage. Join this innovative team and make a big impact!

What You’ll Do
  • Partner with customer operations and processing to ensure a smooth post close mortgage process
  • Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Be process focused and continuously look for opportunities for improvements and efficiencies
  • Work independently to prioritize work based on investor delivery expiration and closing dates
  • Handle tasks such as printing, signing, notarizing, and recording relevant documents
  • Process paper Assignments of Mortgage (AOMs) related to loan sales and securitizations
  • Manage the Power of Attorney (POA) and AOM process for Private Label Partners until 100% of volume is on DART
  • Oversee the onboarding and offboarding of DART loans via AOMs, ensuring timely and accurate processing
  • Manage the processing of new PLDs, document revisions, and handling of tax affidavits, FP7, and other necessary paperwork in collaboration with our vendors.
  • Address security instrument exceptions and lien release issues, including conducting county research, outreach, and resolving recording exceptions.
  • Manage RSD tasks when closing defects are identified, dispositioning appropriately for next steps.
  • Manage outreach efforts for unsecured liens, including calls, emails, FedEx letters, and SandCastle orders.
  • Process documents for closing appointments as necessary
  • Handle curative efforts such as Scrivener's Affidavits and other document corrections, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant.
  • Monitor the recording stage audit and ensure accountability for all security instruments (SIs), working with vendors to resolve outstanding liens and secure recorded SIs.
  • Oversee the process for FNMA loan delivery and MERS registration
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team and company operations
What We Look For
  • 1+ year of administrative and/ or customer-facing experience
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment with little direction and meet tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to provide professional and concise communications with cross-functional teams and resolve any issues, including suspense conditions, within response deadlines
  • Exceptional customer service skills to work with external customers
  • Ability to organize and manage a large pipeline of loans
  • Analytical skills and drive to look for process improvements and ways to digitize and automate processes
  • Ability to navigate G-Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Google Drive to manage information and collaborate with team members through Slack.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in residential mortgage lending with Post-Closing experience
  • In-depth knowledge of HELOC loans, FNMA, FHLMC, and private investor products
  • Thorough understanding of Federal and State regulations, including but not limited to HELOC and Conventional guidelines, RESPA, TILA, HOEPA, and QM.
  • Knowledge of State and County recording requirements and needs
