Job summary

Russell Tobin & Associates is seeking an Administrative Assistant in Austin, TX for a 4+ month contract with possible extensions. The role supports the World Wide Grocery Private Brands Product Quality team, handling sampling, lab upkeep, and admin duties.

Pay rate is $18.00–$21.00/hr on a W2 basis. Required are a 4-year or 2-year degree in related fields and 1–2 years of CPG/lab experience, with strong organization and communication skills and proficiency in MS Office.

Job Summary:

Position Summary:

• In this role, you will support the World Wide Grocery Private Brands (WWGS PB) Product Quality team through the following responsibilities:
• Manage first production retains (storage and cataloging)
• Lead the cooking, preparing, and presenting of samples weekly end of shelf life evaluations.
• Conduct independent product quality evaluations and store walks to investigate potential product quality issues
• Report evaluation results and investigation findings to internal stakeholders
• Maintain, clean, and organize the product quality lab and equipment
• Update lab policies and procedures
• Perform other miscellaneous product quality and administrative duties as necessary

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, Nutrition, Quality Assurance, or a related field from an accredited university
• 1-2 years of experience working in the consumer-packaged goods industry or laboratory setting
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and deliver against rapid timelines
• Must be detail-oriented and extremely organized with the ability to anticipate team needs
• Excellent communication skills and ability to excel in team settings
• Computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
• Good typing skills and accuracy
