Job summary

Sonoma State University is seeking an Administrative Analyst to support the Ethnic Studies and Languages department. Reporting to the Director Operations, the AA handles records, operations and scheduling, and budget preparation and control.

The analyst uses independent judgement to interpret policies, perform research, and prepare financial reports, while assisting faculty, staff, students and community with diverse matters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and experience in admin policy development.
  • Three years of office administration experience preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required.
  • Knowledge of Google Suite, Drupal and PeopleSoft preferred.

Job Summary

Reporting to and under general supervision of the Director Operations (DO), the Administrative Analyst (AA) performs varied administrative, technical and analytical duties and services, including record management, operations and procedures, course scheduling processes, and budget preparation and control for the Ethnic Studies and Languages department. The AA serves as the main resource for faculty, staff, students, department, and community, in diverse and moderate complex matters of policy, procedure, and practice by providing information, historical background, and rationales. The AA is expected to use independent judgement to make decisions, interpret and apply policies and procedures, perform research when needed, prepare and analyze budgetary and other financial reports, provide support documentation, and provide general office assistance. Contacts involve interaction with all levels inside and outside the university, and may include dealing with sensitive and confidential information.

Key Qualifications
  • This position requires a bachelor's degree and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development and improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
  • Three years of experience in office administration is preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) required.
  • Knowledge of Google Suite, Drupal and PeopleSoft preferred.
Salary And Benefits
  • This is a full time, non-exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period.
  • The CSU Classification Step Range for this address is $4,799 - $6,992 per month (step 1 - step 20). Step placement will be determined based on relevant qualifications and professional experience. Step placement upon appointment is not expected to exceed Step 1 ($4,799).
  • This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 15 paid holidays are offered each year. Sonoma State University is also a Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF) Employer.
