Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking an Administrative and Communications Specialist to support the Talent Management team within University HR. This fixed-term role offers a one-year appointment and a hybrid work arrangement, blending on-campus and remote work.

The position focuses on administrative coordination, communications editing, and project support, including meetings, reports, and learning program tracking. The role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy, and professional judgment.

Qualifications

  • Strong organization and communications skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to multi-task, exercise professionalism and good judgement, and work both as a team and independently.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree and 3-4 years related administrative experience typically required.
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules large meetings and coordinates logistics.
  • Creates and updates organizational charts.
  • Compiles, organizes, cross-references, and formats reports.
  • Takes notes at team meetings and summarizes updates for the team.
  • Organizes and files job descriptions.
  • Organizes and maintains Teams and SharePoint sites and filesystems.
  • Event/program scheduling and logistics.
  • Edits and proofreads communications, presentations, and other materials.
  • Designs PowerPoint decks and resources.
  • Reviews communications with different audiences and tailors accordingly.
  • Audits Teams sites and HR Service Center content monthly for accuracy.
  • Maintains attendance records for learning programs.
  • Organizes nominee lists and sends invitations to learning programs.
  • Sends participant surveys, compiles results, and tracks common themes.
  • Tracks team projects and initiatives to keep them on schedule.
  • Follows up on action items between meetings.

Administrative & Communications Specialist
About the Opportunity
JOB SUMMARY

The Administrative and Communications Specialist providescommunication, project coordination, program, and administrativesupport to the Talent Management team in University HR.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Expected Hiring Range:

$53,615.00 - $75,728.75
