Qualifications

Job Description:

D/C Merchandise Control Assistant

Job Summary:

Responsible for performing clerical duties for the Merchandise Department. Receives and distributes all AD information to the entire building. Answers all telephone calls and conveys to appropriate personnel. Performs word processing, filing, and copying.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Answers and conveys all calls to appropriate Merchandise Controllers and Managers.
  • Problem solves questions from Home Office.
  • Receives all Ad information from Home Office and creates, maintains, and distributes AD Updates to the building management team.
  • Monitors IMSP Priority List to ensure all keytrols are entered into the SCAN system.
  • Logs and tracks all LPRs (Locator Problem Reports) received from Home Office and updates the status of the LPR process to Home Office and management team.
  • Monitors re-ticketing process in conjunction with the financial control department in Home Office.
  • Sends Lotus Notes pictures and information of samples to Planning from Merchandise Controllers.
  • Creates weekly reports for Merchandise Control Managers.
  • Prepares various memos and forms for the Merchandising team.
  • Distributes memos and phone listings from Home Office to the merchandising team.
  • Assists controllers on the floor with pulling samples and signing damages.
  • Updates and distributes weekly RTV (Return to Vendor) status reports.
  • Orders supplies needed for the department.
  • Creates memos, reports, and other forms for the operations team.
  • Provides coverage for operator switchboard during emergencies and absenteeism.
  • Participates in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Formal Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent job experience.

Minimum Job Skills Required:

  • Certificate or diploma in computer-related courses.
  • Strong PC skills including Lotus Notes, Lotus 123, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong communication and flexibility skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.

Minimum Experience Required:

1-2 years of secretarial/clerical experience.
