Job summary

WGNSTAR in De Soto, KS is seeking a hands-on Electrical Technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain semiconductor equipment. Day shift; travel not specified. Pay rate $26-$28/hr DOE.

Full-time position with full benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k). The role requires reading schematics, using digital voltmeters and oscilloscopes, and collaborating with a multicultural team to resolve hardware and software issues.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of knowledge of electrical diagnostic instruments and shop/hand tools.
• Able to read electrical schematics and blueprints and diagnose/troubleshoot electromechanical devices.
• Team player with flexibility to work compressed schedules.
• Ability to work at heights (ladder, scissor lift, etc.).
• Working knowledge of Digital Voltmeter and Oscilloscope functionality.
• PC skills (MS Office, Excel, Windows).
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety protocols and report unsafe conditions.
• Perform routine installations and maintenance; analyze log data for QA/QC.
• Assist on-the-job training to internal technician; troubleshoot hardware and software.
• Interact with international, multilingual teams and interpret technical information.
• Prepare paperwork and status reports; input data to QA/QC check sheets and submit reports.
• Attend daily field meetings; propose technical solutions to engineering teams.
• Perform preventative maintenance and maintain thorough records of work performed.
• Wear PPE as required to ensure health and safety.

Pay Rate: $26-$28/hr DOE

Location: De Soto, KS

Position Type: Full-time

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow all corporate safety protocols and report unsafe conditions.
• Perform routine installations and/or maintenance on assigned products. Perform log analysis of system errors during Qualification and test.
• Assist on-the-job training to the internal technician in routine operation, installation, and troubleshooting of assigned products. Effectively troubleshoot issues for both hardware and software.
• Professionally interact with and understand technical information from the internal team and multi-national and multi-language teams.
• Prepare and submit all necessary paperwork and Status Reporting with supervision. Input data to the QA / QC check sheet, create a report, and submit it to the Installation Site Manager.
• Attend daily field meetings. Work with minimum supervision, as needed, and recommend technical solutions/resolutions to engineering groups.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines according to documented requirements. Make continuing visual and audible observations of the machines to detect any abnormalities. Maintain complete and accurate records of all work done on the equipment and machines.
• To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees', wearing PPE is a requirement and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, a face mask, and a hard hat.

Requirements:

• Technical School or Military Certification is preferred. No degree required.
• 1-2 years of knowledge of electrical diagnostic instruments and shop/hand tools. Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints and diagnose/troubleshoot electromechanical devices.
• Ability to work in a team environment and be a team player. Flexible and willing to work a compressed work week. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to work with heights (Ladder, Scissor lift, Etc.)
• Working knowledge of Digital Voltmeter and Oscilloscope functionality. PC skills (MS Office, Excel, Windows)
• Valid Driver’s License.

Physical Effort/Activities: May be required to walk up to 5+miles per day, able to be on feet for 8-10 hrs at a time, able to bend, twist, push/pull, crouch, kneel in confined spaces, work at heights, on a ladder, and lift up to 50-75 pounds. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
