Job summary

UNM-Los Alamos seeks qualified temporary part-time faculty to teach online and/or face-to-face Welding courses at the 1000 or 2000 level. Positions are contingent on enrollment and offerings each semester, with a continuous recruitment for Summer 2026.

Wage is $1,135.26 per credit hour for adjunct faculty, with teaching across SMAW, GTAW, Oxyacetylene, and Pipe Welding. Strong NM residency ties preferred; remote or in-person class formats may be used per need.

Qualifications

• Current professional welding certification (AWS or ASME).
• Three years welding experience with MIG, TIG, and SMAW in professional or industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Instructors are responsible for all aspects of any class they teach, including meeting with the class, content delivery, assignment development, grading, reporting of grades, and assessment of student learning as outlined by the Program Coordinator.
